“Drawing on ancient literature (Song of Songs and the Gnostic Gospel of Mary) to current works, on images, ancient to present, and on music, ancient Greek to contemporary Western, this presentation examines the figure of the long repressed but powerful archetype of transformation. The dark, hidden, positive feminine will be accessed through the figure of Mary Magdalene, long associated with the Black Madonna and great goddess figures such as Isis and the feminine Wisdom, Sophia.” Catherine directed and edited “Anchored in the Heart,” the work of Karlyn M. Ward, PhD, Jungian analyst in the San Francisco Bay Area. |
